Cryptocoryne nurii is a rarer crypt species that has the same size and ruffled leaf texture as C. wendtii but has distinctive spotting that looks like tiger stripes. This low light plant is easy to care for and likes to feed on root tabs and nutrient-rich substrate. Its coloration can vary from bronze to green, depending on the lighting and fertilizer. On average, it can reach up to 8 inches (20 cm) tall and is often planted in the midground of tall tanks or background of nano tanks.

How to Plant Cryptocoryne Nurii 

1. Upon receiving the tissue culture plant, immediately open the container and rinse off any excess liquid from the roots.
2. The cryptocoryne can be planted as one single plant or gently separated into smaller plant clumps if there are multiple nodes.
3. Insert each plant clump into the substrate using planting tweezers or your fingers so that the roots are completely buried but the leaves are above the substrate.
4. For optimal growth, do not move the plant or disturb the roots. Keep the water parameters, lighting, and fertilization schedule as consistent as possible for optimal growth.
5. Make sure to add lots of root tabs if you’re using inert substrate or if your nutrient-rich substrate is depleted.

How to Grow Cryptocoryne Nurii

— Cryptocoryne nurii care is very easy, so start by using low lighting between 10-20 PAR. 
— Why is my new cryptocoryne melting? Crypt plants are known to experience "crypt melt" where the leaves may melt when suddenly moved to a new environment. To help the plant recover faster and grow new leaves that are accustomed to your water parameters, leave the roots planted in the ground and make sure to provide nutrient-rich planted tank substrate or Easy Root Tabs. 
— Why is my Cryptocoryne nurii turning yellow after it was growing so well? Crypt plants absorb lots of nutrients from the ground, so it may be a nutrient deficiency. If the leaves are yellowing and dying after a couple of months, please add more root tabs.

How to Propagate Cryptocoryne Nurii

Crypt plants can reproduce in aquariums by sending out a horizontal runner with a little plantlet at the end or growing little nodes off the side of the original plant. The plantlet will sprout its own leaves and roots that grow into the ground. You can cut off the runner or gently split off the plantlet node from the parent plant. Then the plantlet can be replanted in a different location.
